A Valentine Wish
Monday is Valentine's Day and what better gift to receive than a blushing piece of jewelry. I love this piece from David Yurman because it's bold yet totally wearable for everyday. This insanely gorgeous ring is made from sterling silver, topped with a light pink Morganite gem, and flanked by diamonds. I know I have this on my wish list. You can buy it at davidyurman.com for $1,550.00.

Viva Mexico
If you're tired of the bitter cold, dirty snow, and chunks of ice then it's time to take a vacation. To me, there is nothing like Mexico. It's close, hot, and affordable. I've always had a blast when I've visited the country. The tricky part can be finding a chic hotel that has the modern architecture and design that I'm looking for. Many of the hotels are decorated in the traditional sense. However, Hotel Encanto in Acapulco is different. It's a breath of fresh air. It's very minimal which I adore. White is the predominant color of the hotel inside and out but at night it glows with a variety of colored lights. Each room comes with its own private terrace, some with plunge pools, facing the ocean. Rates start at $351 a night for double occupancy.

Bath Time
Looking to spruce up your bathroom? Changing up your towels is an easy and fairly inexpensive way to do it. I like to play with prints while keeping the rest of the color scheme neutral. But, if you got a bold wallpaper or wall color maybe a solid color will work best so it doesn't compete. These are some fun options for your next bath (or shower).
These crocodile textured towels are amazing. They come in a variety of neutral colors but pack a punch. Textural differences in a room make it more lush and rich. Don't be afraid to mix and match different materials and textures within the same color palette. Dillards.com is selling these towels by Nobel Excellence for $4.00 (wash cloth), $8.00 (hand towel), and $14.00 (bath towel).

Here, instead of different textures you can play with different patterns. All have black and white incorporated in them but some are more solid while others have a big print. You can mix and match however you please. You can't get it wrong. They are from Bianca and are available at macys.com. Act quick - they are on sale for $6.99 (wash cloth), $8.99 (hand towel), and $13.99 (bath towel).

I think the Moroccan design on these towels is very modern. They are reversible (I love a double duty product) so you actually get 2 sets of towels for the price of one. They come in 3 colors (blue, green, and brown). A set includes 6 towels! At just $33.80 you are getting a true bargain. They are made by Divatex Home Fashions and available on Amazon.com.

Its as simple as Black and White
Choosing the right accents for your home doesn't have to be difficult. If you settle on a neutral palette of black and white you have millions of options. These are some ideas for the modern life.
This cube accent table from worldmarket.com is really cool. If four of them are grouped together they could make an innovation coffee table. Or, you could place one on either side of a sofa or bed. It's also available in black. It's $99.00.

Pillows are fabulous when it comes to decorating your home. They can easily be changed out if you want to update the look of your space. The bold graphic print on this pillow would look nice against any bright color you may use to pop the room. It's available on chiasso.com for $48.00.

If you've been reading my blog you will know that I love lamps. There is something about this little owl lamp that brings a smile to my face. It's so adorable. I like the color combination shown here but it's also available with a black owl and white shade. Target.com is selling this for $39.99.

Healthy Hair
We all want it. Shiny, nourished hair. Some of us may be blessed with it already. Many of us put our hair through the ringer so we need a little help. Nexxus ProMend Leave-In Treatment may just be the solution we've been looking for. It helps repair split ends which in turn will prolong your next trim to the salon. It's made with positive and negative charged polymers that mends your ends back together. It's only $9.99. You can't compare that price to what the salons are charging these days. You can find it wherever Nexxus products are sold.

Golden Touch
Alexander McQueen's newest accessories are a hit with me. The gold/black colored bags and shoes are badass. They make you feel sexy but not demure. When you pair these with your LBD you know everyone is going to be asking "Who makes that?". Knock 'em dead. Shop alexandermcqueen.com for more details.

Cozy Pops of Color
The new brights for spring aren't just for clothing. They have translated into furniture as well. This may not be for the traditionalist but sometimes you just got to break out of the box.
I can always rely on cb2.com to come up with bold colors in their line. This gorgeous club chair comes in the most beautiful shade of blue. It's reminiscent of turquoise waters in the Caribbean. Very soothing (and cozy)! It's $799.00.

I like the clean lines of this ottoman from ikea.com. The cotton/rayon cover can be removed to be cleaned. Or, change it up and try a different colored cover. It's so easy to change up the look of your room by keeping the main pieces of your space in more neutral colors and just adding pops of color on the smaller items. It's $199.00
I love purple upholstered furniture. It's so much fun. The color is rich, vibrant, and modern. This particular chair is called the Pelican Chair and it is from designwithinreach.com. This sells for $4,420.00. It's made by Onecollection from House of Finn Juhl.
